Our history

Founded in 1939 in Saint-Justin, Quebec, the family business Les Métiers Clément specializes in the manufacturing of traditional wooden looms. Its craftsmanship was officially patented in 1943 by its founder, Jules Clément.

Over the years, the company grew under the leadership of the Clément family. From 1963 to 1989, Claude Clément, son of the founder, actively contributed to the development and improvement of the looms, thus participating in the refinement of the models we know today.

Production subsequently ceased due to a decline in demand for artisanal weaving.

In April 2026, after a 37-year hiatus, Marcel Clément, the founder's grandson and representative of the third generation of the family, set out to relaunch the manufacturing of Métiers Clément in the original Saint-Justin factory.

Driven by a renewed interest in craftsmanship, weaving, and handmade creations, this relaunch marks a new chapter in the company's history.

Thanks to the collaboration of a weaver and the reconstruction of the original plans, it is now possible to reproduce models faithful to the 1943 patent, while perpetuating the family's expertise and heritage.

Today, Les Métiers Clément is reviving a Quebec tradition that spans generations, combining authenticity, passion, and a love for craftsmanship.
